Colt Python Revolver
The Colt Python has stayed a classic and intimidating piece to not only show off but pass down through generations. Aging like a fine wine since the 1950s the Python has retained many features of its original release model including the ribbed top strap and full-length underlug. A newer feature of additional weight underneath the rear sights offer even more stability and balance than the Pythons of old.
In newer models, the tight cylinder lock-up has been reinforced to stay tighter through more rounds, and both the double and single-action trigger pulls offer a silky smooth feel. A serrated spurred hammer offers more traction than the traditional checkered texture to easily cock and fire this wheel gun while minimizing movement deviations.
The Python, built for accuracy while slinging heavy-hitting .357 loads, also is designed to accommodate .38 ammunition, adding an element of practicality for the modern-day marksman. The classic stainless finish contrasted with Altamont wood grips and classic gold inlay Colt logo demands recognition as an unmistakable powerhouse.
Snake Gun Legacy
This newest model Pythons in the Snake Gun Legacy do nothing but shine. With a now stronger stainless steel frame than original Pythons, you have a 6”, 4.25”, and 3” barrel option. The adjustable rear sight and interchangeable red-ramp front sight keep this Colt deadly accurate at 25 yards.
With the 6” barrel option weight of 40+ ounces, the beefier frame minimizes chronic loosening in the cylinder, staving off the need for frequent tune-ups when firing heavy loads. This weight also balances and counters a significant amount of recoil making for a fun firing experience during extended shooting sessions. A recessed target crown adds another degree of comfort and consistency to this legendary icon of a firearm’s hallmark accuracy.

Colt Python Models and Variations
The Colt Python had a hiatus in production from 2005 to 2020, however, the charm and charisma of this firearm haven’t wavered. Older models offer unique features like a prized blue finish that was especially sensitive to tarnishing, other off-shoot variations included an 8” barrel solely designed for hunting. 2022 Python .357 Magnum 6RD 3" Stainless Wood Grip
Gen 3 added a 15-degree slant trigger mechanism consistent through Gen 4 and 5 and added finger grooves and thumb rests to either side, which has been a hot debate in the firearm community regarding comfort and hand positioning. Gen 3 also included a modified extractor that also is a loaded chamber indicator, adding an extra visual for safety.
Gen 3 was the first to feature the Glock Universal Rail for the addition of accessories and an extra cross pin to distribute the force produced by the locking block. A unique feature this release year is that bright-colored frames came into production for dummy or simulation purposes.

Python Hunter
This massive, 8” barrel Python was one of a series released by Colt with the sole purpose of hunting.
