I had a Leupold 3-9x40 on my .22-250 for years, and always felt the magnification was lacking. I decided to give Vortex a try because of the warranty and price, so I sold my Leupold and picked up Crossfire II 6-18x44. To say the least, I am very impressed. There is a slight drop in image quality from the Leupold (as would be expected), but the less than $300 price tag for a quality high-magnification scope more than makes up for it.Sailor Dan of Farmington, NM - July, 09 2014:
I don't have anything bad to say about Vortex. For the price you get amazing quality. I also have a Vortex Nomad spotting scope and will have Vortex in the future. I put a Crossfire 2, 4-12x40 on my target 10/22 and it is a prairie dog wreckin machine. I can consistantly hit dogs at 100+ yards with my rig and Vortex is mostly to thank for that.PC of Las Vegas, NV - November, 14 2014:
This scope works very well, when it isn't broken. Used it on my Savage Axis 30 06 (mounted at SW), and the reticle went off. Although Vortex has an incredible warranty (ship it to us, we'll fix it - no questions), I spent 20 dollars shipping it. While I was waiting, I got impatient and bought the Viper (great buy), and when the Crossfire, I decided to mount it on my Ruger 10/22. three shots in, and the reticle is again skewed. Both times, the scope was mounted properly. So it will be another 20 dollars. I feel like telling them to keep it, and lesson learned...
