Pflueger Trion Fly Reel - Forged, machined and anodized aluminum frame and spool with a mid arbor spool design. Features a patented center-disc drag system for total drag control.
Pflueger Trion Fly Reel - The Plueger Trion Fly Reel is one of the best values in a machined fly reel today. Its forged, machined and anodized aluminum frame and spool are strong and lightweight for better balance. A mid arbor spool design has a high line capacity and is less likely to create coils in your fly line than a standard spool design. The Trion features an extremely smooth, patented center-disc drag system for total drag control. This reel is easily converted from left to right hand retrieve. You won't find a better fly reel at this price!

I have had the 3/4 and 5/6 for several years. Quality is excellent, design is superb, look is appealing, and best of all the drag is better than Bauer, Ross and Lamson reels I own. By far the best reel for the money I've encountered. One thing to remember is that the 3/4 is really only a 4 and the 5/6 is really only a 6. The reels are too heavy and bulky for the lower weight rating, but ideally balanced for the 4 and 6.Skyler of Mesa, AZ - May, 14 2013:
This is a nice fly reel. Looks sharp and performs beautifully. I really like the mid arbor size spool.Kevin of Herriman, UT - July, 03 2013:
I have had the 1956 model for years... well almost since it first came out actually. It was one of my first machined reels. And I must say that it is truly a high quality reel at a bargain price. It is durable and has a smooth drag. The only fault I have found is that it can take a little bit to get the drag started. Otherwise it has functioned flawlessly.Hank of Cookeville, TN - May, 27 2014:
The Pflueger Ttion is everything the description said it would be. Put it on a 5wt rod and had a fine day of fishing. No monsters but steady fish to the net and the Pflueger Trion performed smoothly and flawlessly that day and every day since. I think the manufacturer gave an honest appraisal of their product the for the money rates very high in my book. So high that I have since purchased two more for my other rods. Yes,I like them that much.Tom of Folsom, CA - February, 25 2011:
I have the 1978 and love it. Drag works super, no problems at all in the 5 years I've had it. I have 6 wt. wf. line on it with 100 yds. of dacron backing. It may be a stretch for 8 wt line and 100 yds of dacron to fit on this.
