Kodiak Canvas 12 X 9 Cabin Tent with Awning - Made with premium grade, Hydra-Shield, 100% cotton duck canvas. The robust 1-inch steel tube poles with welded corner braces will hold up to the weather. The floor is a seamless, heavy-duty, puncture resistant, 16 oz vinyl that keeps water out. The tall ceiling (7.5 ft. at peak) and steep wall design (5.5 ft. at sides) provide a roomy interior with stand-up, walk-around comfort. A large front door and a side entry with high-grade #10 zippers offer convenient access. Five large windows provide openness, and excellent air flow. The no-see-um screen mesh keeps out the smallest bugs. For ventilation and openness the versatile side wall can be rolled up, or extended out with poles into a small awning. Great investment. I was impressed when I saw it on the floor at Sportsmans, hesitant at first but extreamly happy I made the purchase. Easy to set up but you need a good sized camp area to put it up. The awning is such a great feature. The winds picked up in the evening and in my old tent it would shake and was very loud. Not in this tent! I am anxious to get out there this winter. This will be a tent I will have for a very long time.John of Riverton, UT - July, 09 2013:
I bought this tent for the family camping trips and couldn't be happier. I did a ton of research and went back and forth between this and the other kodiak style of tent and the deluxe awning was what sold me on this one. I purchased the enclosure accessory that goes with this tent and bought some carpet to lay in the tents and it's safe to say I am the envy of everyone we go camping with. I put my dog kennel in the enclosed awning as well as camp tools and dirty clothes and shoes as it is now a "mud room" and only keep the cots, pads and bags in the actual tent area! We have more than enough room. The only downfall is overall set up time. I have only done it twice with this tent but there are a lot of poles and they are heavy. However, I feel like this tent could hold up in some serious weather. Totally worth the investment.Akhunter of Palmer, AK - November, 12 2014:
I went into Sportsmans a few years ago to get a Montana wall tent but they were sold out so I looked at the Kodiak tents and decided on the one with the awning and also purchased the enclosure. Been on two moose and caribou hunts in wind, rain, and snow and was glad I purchased these. It leaked a little on this years hunt and last year, I thought the wind was going to damage it but it held up. We have taken the family on fishing trips from Valdez to Glenallen and all over the Kenai but the weather at Denali is definitely the worst and it held up. Two oversized cots and bunkbed cots fit nicely with room for two chairs in main tent. I have put it up several times alone and taken down and it's a challenge but doable. Artificial grass carpet for the awning enclosure makes it nice for when the weather sucks and keeps tent clean.
