Alps Zephyr Backpacking Tents - The Zephyr model is ideal for those hot, muggy nights when you want to feel a breeze in your tent. The walls are composed entirely of mesh, allowing maximum ventilation and fresh air. The unique 2 pole design gives you more head room to sit up, without feeling cramped. The Zephyr features aircraft alloy aluminum poles, which are strong and lightweight. There are two doors on each side to make it easy to get in and out of the tent. There are also two vestibules over each door that create a great place to store your extra gear. The fly buckles to the tent, offering a much more secure attachment when compared to elastic cord. Incredible ventilation, great head room, and lightweight?a great combination, creating a high quality tent!

This is a great product for the money. I used this tent late March in the Rockies at 9,000'. The temperature dipped into the low teens that night, but we were still much warmer in the tent than we were next to the fire; even with bags only rated at 32 degrees. The double doors are quite convenient and eliminate the need to climb over your partner in the middle of the night. This tent is light and compact which doesn't make it much of a burden in the pack. The middle point of the fly extends a good three feet beyond the door leaving space to store packs and footwear outside and protected from evening downpours. I recommend this tent to anyone who wants a quality product for less.Ray of Jackson, MS - June, 29 2011:
I recently started doing some backpacking trips with my college buddies. We are not extreme hikers, but enjoy the outdoors. On both trips, this tent was easy to set-up. On the hot and muggy night, the mesh walls allowed me to catch a cool breeze. Our second trip brought the rain. A cool thing is that the fly goes all the way down to the ground and created a little area for my muddy boots and soaked outerwear. Those belongings under the rainfly along with me in the tent stayed completely dry throughout the night...which made it for nice sleeping. I don't own anything else from Alps, but I am satisfied with the product and look forward to many more trips.
